S2W TALON will be presenting on the topic of voice phishing at the 'Black Hat Asia 2024' conference
2024.02.02

Team Leader Ryu So-jun of the S2W Threat Intelligence Center TALON will be presenting on the topic of voice phishing at the 'Black Hat Asia 2024' conference held in Singapore this April! 🎉

💡The Black Hat Conference is an event where you can check out the latest research and trends in the InfoSec field. It's a prestigious event sponsored by global companies like Microsoft, and last year’s 'Black Hat Asia' saw a record-breaking attendance of over 3,000 people, with security experts from about 100 countries participating.

This presentation's topic is ‘Voice Phishing Syndicates Unmasked: An In-Depth Investigation and Exposure,’ covering the types of voice phishing groups and malicious apps (SecretCalls) used for phishing, as well as tracking details.

In the past, malicious apps for voice phishing impersonated banks and government agencies, but recently there's a trend of disguising them as voice phishing detection apps, document viewers, and security services. This presentation will be an opportunity to thoroughly understand the methods and current status of voice phishing attack groups found not only in Korea but also in countries like Japan.

In April, we will deliver a review of the Black Hat Asia presentation, along with fresh photos from the event. 🙏
